Shared Health Data is about better health and healthcare through exchange of health information, greater transparency and innovation using consumer- and patient-facing digital tools to better health and healthcare.
I’m a general internist and health technology evangelist. I care about great information and services getting into the hands of those who want and need it the most – patients, consumers, all of us. I envision healthcare as it should be: information at peoples’ fingertips. cost-effective services. great communication – with experts and with each other. We’re in the midst of excitement and challenges in health care..let’s hope we don’t have to wait for our kids to drive us to Health 3.0.
I work on designing information and services to engage people in their own care, focusing on web & mobile apps that can integrate into care. Better health and great patient experiences means shared health information that has reach and usage and positive impact.
I received an MD at Oregon Health & Science University, MPH from University of Washington and residency at Rhode Island Hospital. I did fellowships in health services research (Seattle VA) and medical informatics (OHSU). I’ve practiced in Massachusetts and Oregon, and worked 10 years at MaineHealth and Maine Medical Center. I’m back in Maine after a stint in Oregon. I do love Portlands!
